Black History Month February 2023
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the many traditions and accomplishments of Black Americans and Black Illinoisans who have built, shaped, and enhanced the lives of us all. CHPV welcomes and invites you to celebrate with us by recognizing some of our city's institutions preserving Black history and highlighting the following events celebrating Black history and culture.

Sojourner Truth Festival of the Arts 2023
The Logan Center festival commemorates the 1976 event of the same name with a nine-week screening series and two-day symposium devoted to Black women’s filmmaking of the 1970s–90s.

Dementia Resource Champions Online
Via Zoom, Tuesdays at 5:30 Central
April 11 – May 23

This is a 6-week online educational series meant to transform community members into champions of dementia information and resources for their communities. Through six modules, students will learn about dementia, hear directly from caregivers and past DRC graduates, and be ready to set up their Caregiver Support Groups. The course is offered quarterly and free of charge.
