Dear CHPV Members,
Chicago Hyde Park Village was founded with the goal of creating an age-friendly and supportive community of "neighbors helping neighbors." We have seen substantial growth in recent years and CHPV has become an indispensable community service and neighborhood social hub. CHPV is definitely making a positive difference in people's lives.
From the beginning we've sought to keep the cost of membership as low as possible, relying on generous support from grants, sponsorships, and donations. Since its inception 10 years ago, CHPV increased Associate Member dues only once, has never increased Full Member dues, and even reduced dues early on. With the steady growth in our expenses to fulfill our mission, we are making the difficult decision to increase the cost of Full and Associate membership by less than 5%. This increase will help keep CHPV and this community YOU have built thriving and allows us to continue bringing you the quality programs and services you want and need.
Full Member Dues Increase
Annual Full Member dues will increase $20 effective immediately:
Full Individual — $500
Full Household — $610
Associate Member Dues Increase
Annual Associate Member dues will increase $5 effective immediately:
Associate Individual — $125
Associate Household — $205
Access Membership
We debuted CHPV's new Access Membership last year . The purpose of Access Membership is to ensure the availability of CHPV's vital transportation and medical appointment companion services for our community members with a lower income and we do not wish to raise that cost barrier at this time. Visit chpv.org/join to learn more about Access Membership, the required income thresholds, and to download the flyer and application.
We understand firsthand that Chicago's South Side suffers from disproportionate economic disparity and many older community members are living on a fixed income. This is why we work hard to keep CHPV membership as affordable as possible while maximizing the rewards of membership in support of vibrant, healthy aging. CHPV believes we have the right to thrive as we age and have access to necessary resources and peer support networks when we need them. As we love to say at CHPV, "it takes a Village."
Thank you for your continuing support and for being a valuable member of our community. We look forward to seeing you at our monthly Lunch Gatherings, Zoom Drop-Ins, or any number of in-person and online CHPV activities.
Our Warmest Regards,
Inagrace Dietterich
