Yoga For Balance with Janèe Powell

No prior experience is necessary. Yoga sessions incorporate gentle stretching, breath work, modified yoga poses and relaxation. Come breathe, relax, move, and have fun with your friends and neighbors at the Chicago Hyde Park Village! Classes improve strength and balance and take place either standing or seated.

Get Aid to Earthquake Victims in Syria

The earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have been on the minds of many people in the past month. In case you are still looking for a way to support the people most impacted by the earthquake, here's another opportunity. CHPV's staff member Dorothy Pytel has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will bring relief supplies via a connection with her sister-in-law who works just across the border in Erbil, Iraq for an organization called Green Desert. Green Desert is preparing to bring relief supplies to Syrian earthquake victims in early-mid March but needs help from others to cover the costs.

The Pytel family is visiting Erbil this month and will provide updates via the GoFundMe platform. The Pytels will help with simple things such as loading supplies onto trucks heading towards Syria while they are in Erbil.
