Announcing the Illinois Multisector Plan for Aging
Everyone plays a role in making Illinois a great place to live, work, support family, and grow older. EngAging Illinois: A Comprehensive Plan for Living Well establishes priorities and policies to make sure our state, counties, cities, and towns are great places to grow up AND grow old. It will help all of us — no matter where we live, how much we earn, what we look like, what we believe, or our abilities — to live well and to age with a sense of security and possibility.
EngAging Illinois is a groundbreaking, multisector plan that positions Illinois among the first states in the nation to develop a comprehensive strategy addressing the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers. The plan establishes a decade-long roadmap through 2036 for the state, outlining strategies in four key focus areas:
• Creating Livable and Connected Communities
• Ensuring Health for All Ages
• Investing in Caregivers
• Affording Aging

The ASA Chicagoland Roundtable, along with Health & Medicine, invite partners and community members to join us on Friday, February 6 for our next roundtable to learn about the newly released Multi-Sector Plan for Aging, discuss implementation considerations, and connect the plan to ongoing community-level efforts across the state.
We hope you can join us as we hear from Mary Killough, Director, Illinois Department on Aging, and Michelle Hoersch Chief Planning Officer, who will present the plan itself. Diane Slezak, CEO and President, AgeOptions, and Phillipe Largent, State Director, AARP Illinois will share their thoughts on the plan and what we can all do to make sure we achieve its laudable goals.
