OUR GRATITUDE TO UCHICAGO SNMA

We are thrilled to highlight the incredible dedication of our neighbors at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. In honor of Black History Month, the UChicago chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) reached out to Chicago Hyde Park Village with a mission to give back to the Black community in Hyde Park through meaningful service.

Since February, a team of 16 medical students has been hard at work on a vital database cleanup project. This "asynchronous and remote" initiative involves meticulously verifying and updating our extensive directory of third-party vendors and contractors. While the project began as a Black History Month collaboration, these busy students have generously extended their efforts well into April to ensure the resource is accurate and reliable for our members.

We are deeply grateful to Solyana Asefa and her fellow future doctors for their time, leadership, and ongoing commitment to supporting Hyde Park’s older adults. Please join us in thanking the UChicago SNMA chapter for their wonderful contribution to our community!
