Financial security in later life is shaped by more than individual savings. It is influenced by the strength of Social Security, pensions, rising housing and health care costs, inflation, public benefits, and the changing economic landscape facing older adults. As policymakers debate the future of these programs, understanding the key indicators of financial well-being has never been more important.
The October ASA Roundtable will examine the significant "numbers" that are shaping retirement security today and into the future. Drawing on insights from New York Times columnist and retirement expert Mark Miller, participants will explore the latest Social Security and Medicare Trustee Reports, the financial outlook for pension systems, findings from the Elder Index on the true cost of aging in place, and emerging trends affecting retirement income.
